A space for the exchange of co-development practices promoting migrants as citizens and actors of      development here and there.

Eunomad considers as essential the integration process of migrants and Diasporas in European society. Indeed, migrants are actors of development in both their country of residence and country of origin and play a key role in social cohesion. But this double potential for migrants to act as citizens of the country of residence and to help develop their country of origin depends on a successful integration.

In this sense, it is necessary to get moments for multi-stakeholder dialogue such as the European Integration Forum (EIF). This meeting provides representatives of civil society with the opportunity "to express their views on the issues of integration of migrants and to discuss current issues and future priorities with the representatives of European Institutions".

In 2011, the theme of the European Integration Forum which Eunomad attended was about "The commitment of the countries of origin in the integration process." The presentation of Eunomad highlighted the involvement of countries of origin in the integration process (read the speech of Eunomad on FEI 2011). This year, the 7th conference of the Forum, which takes place from 31srt to 1 June 2012, focuses on the "Right to family reunification of third country nationals living in the EU". It will be an opportunity to tackle the results of the "public consultation on family reunification" carried out by the EU from November 2011 to March 2012 (see previous article on this topic here).

The Eunomad Network, represented by the President of the network Ronald Lucardie, will participate in this important debate forming a part of the factors of integration of migrants.  At this occasion he will submit the European report of the network which reports on the state of affairs of migration, development and integration in 2011.
