An expert Round Table on "Social aspects of migration and development" organised by Europaid and the International Centre for Migration, Policy and Development (ICMPD), was held on June 21st 2010, in Brussels.

Eunomad has participated in the study of social aspects of migration and development, as they relate to education, health, gender, human rights, protection of migrants and the impact of migration on communities and families left in the country of origin. The round table also examined how to better integrate the social policies of poverty reduction in development strategies.

The seminar was aiming to reflect on the future European Commissions’ communication on migration and development which should come out in 2011. The seminar was also to prepare the UN World Forum on migration and development 2010 which focuses on the human development, rights based approach from the perspective of gender and family.
