AMITIE - Awareness on Migration, Development and Human Rights through local partnerships - is a project which aims at improving public communication strategies in the fields of development education, at strengthening or creating conditions, opportunities and tools for the raising of public awareness on development issues and at involving communities of migrants as active actors and not only as recipients of communication activities. Coordinated by the Municipality of Bologna, the AMITIE project has partners in Brazil, Italy, Latvia, Romania and Spain.

A multidisciplinary context analysis was produced at the beginning of the project to identify a common definition of the "migration and development nexus" and good practices in the field of communicating migration and development in the partner cities. This report was written by the AMITIE research team of the University of Bologna.
